29.08.2026 – Sicherheitsvorfall: Kundendaten über kompromittierten Support-Drittanbieter offengelegt
Am 28./29. August 2026 wurde ein bei 21bitcoin eingebundener externer Feedback-Dienst ('Canny') im Support-System kompromittiert. Dabei wurden Name, E-Mail-Adresse, Telefonnummer, Geburtsdatum, Geräte-/Länderdaten, Kontostatus sowie der zum Zeitpunkt sichtbare Kontostand und die erste Support-Nachricht betroffener Nutzer offengelegt. Bitcoin- und Euro-Guthaben, Transaktionsdaten, Bitcoin-Adressen, Bankdaten, Wohnadresse, Ausweisdokumente und Passwörter waren laut 21bitcoin nicht betroffen, da diese in getrennter Infrastruktur liegen. 21bitcoin informierte proaktiv öffentlich und trennte die kompromittierte Anbindung umgehend.

Description
21bitcoin is an Austrian Bitcoin-only app for recurring savings plans and one-off purchases, registered as a virtual currency service provider with the Austrian financial regulator (FMA). Purchased Bitcoin can be withdrawn to your own self-custodied wallet at any time via Auto Wallet-Transfer (withdrawal fee: 1,000 sats). Using the service requires full identity verification, including questions about employment status, income and intended investment amount.
