Das US-Finanzministerium (OFAC) verhängte im Dezember 2025 eine Strafzahlung von rund 3,1 Mio. USD gegen Exodus Movement, weil das Unternehmen zwischen 2017 und 2019 Kundensupport für Nutzer im Iran leistete und diesen teils empfahl, VPNs zur Umgehung von Zugangsbeschränkungen zu nutzen.

Description
Exodus is a user-friendly multi-coin wallet with an integrated swap and staking features for numerous cryptocurrencies. Private keys always stay with the user (non-custodial), and no registration is required for the wallet itself. Worth knowing: the built-in swap feature uses third-party liquidity sources, which may impose their own KYC requirements for larger swap amounts - but that concerns the third party, not Exodus itself. The wallet is available for desktop, mobile, and as a browser extension, and is considered especially beginner-friendly.
