Ein KI-gestützter Code-Review deckte mehrere potenzielle Schwachstellen auf, u.a. unzureichende Verifizierung von Electrum-Server-Antworten, fehlenden Anti-Klepto-Schutz bei BitBox02-Geräten, ein Tor-DNS-Leck sowie unzureichend geschützte Logs mit Zugangsdaten. Entwickler Craig Raw erklärte, es gebe keine Hinweise auf tatsächliche Ausnutzung und Nutzergelder seien nach seiner Einschätzung nicht gefährdet gewesen. Version 2.5.4 behebt alle gefundenen Probleme.
